Land to Table Food Tour
A Journey Worth Tasting
Experience Tipperary through the people, produce and places that shape the food story of Cashel Palace.
Curated and led by Jorg Mille, Local Experience Curator at Cashel Palace, the Land to Table Food Tour is a guided full-day journey through the Golden Vale, bringing guests face to face with some of the region’s finest makers.
The experience combines producer visits, tastings, storytelling, local hospitality and lunch, offering a deeper understanding of the ingredients, craft and relationships behind the menus served at Cashel Palace and The Bishop’s Buttery.
Open to both residents and non-residents, this is an invitation to follow the journey before it reaches the table.

Morning: Galtee Honey Farm
The day begins in the foothills of the Galtee Mountains with a visit to Galtee Honey Farm, where guests are welcomed into the fascinating world of bees, honey and beekeeping.
During this guided experience, discover the vital role of bees in the landscape, learn about traditional and modern beekeeping techniques, and gain an insight into the care behind producing pure Irish honey.
A guided tasting introduces the delicate variations in flavour, texture and colour, each one shaped by the surrounding countryside, flowers and seasons.

Late Morning: Cashel Blue Farmhouse Cheese
The journey continues to Cashel Blue, one of Ireland’s best-known farmhouse cheese producers.
This family-run farm has helped define Irish farmhouse cheesemaking for generations. Guests are introduced to the craft behind Cashel Blue, from pasture to product, with an insight into the process, patience and skill involved.
A tasting follows, offering the chance to experience how Tipperary’s grasslands, climate and farming traditions influence the character of each cheese.

Lunch: Sadler’s Restaurant, Fethard
Lunch takes place in the historic town of Fethard at Sadler’s, Cashel Palace’s sister property.
Relax and enjoy a carefully prepared lunch that celebrates Irish produce in warm and welcoming surroundings. It is a chance to pause, reflect on the morning’s visits and enjoy another expression of the region’s food culture.

Afternoon: Delalicious Food Experience
In the afternoon, the tour continues with the Delalicious Food Experience, led by local food educator, author and cook Sinéad Delahunty.
Guests are invited into an intimate and engaging presentation shaped by creativity, flavour and a passion for good food. The experience includes a cookery demonstration and tasting, offering a fresh perspective on artisan food production and the simple pleasure of ingredients prepared with care.

Return to Cashel Palace
As the day draws to a close, guests return to Cashel Palace with a deeper appreciation of the people, produce and traditions that define this part of Tipperary.
The Land to Table Food Tour is more than a day out. It is a way to understand the connection between the land, the maker, the kitchen and the table.
Now that is certainly a journey worth tasting.

Watch the Story, Then Taste the Journey
Land to Table: A Journey Worth Tasting began as a documentary following Stephen Hayes, Director of Culinary at Cashel Palace, through Tipperary’s Golden Vale to meet the producers whose ingredients help shape the hotel’s menus.
The Food Tour continues that story beyond the screen, inviting guests to step into the landscape, meet local makers and experience the journey for themselves.
Watch the documentary, then follow the road through Tipperary.
