The Guinness Bar

The Guinness Bar at Cashel Palace celebrates one of the hotel’s most distinctive historic connections. Archbishop Arthur Price, who lived at Cashel Palace from 1744 to 1752, was godfather to Arthur Guinness, founder of the famous Irish stout. The original Guinness brewery was founded with a £100 bequest from Archbishop Price, giving Cashel Palace a unique place in the Guinness story.

Today, The Guinness Bar is an elegant and intimate setting for a creamy pint of Guinness, Irish whiskey, wine or an evening drink by the fire. Set within a restored 1732 Palladian manor in the heart of County Tipperary, it is one of the most atmospheric places to enjoy a drink in Cashel.

Best For: Guinness, Irish whiskey, fireside drinks, heritage and relaxed conversation.

Access: Open to residents and non-residents.

The Residents’ Cocktail Bar

The Residents’ Cocktail Bar is an intimate and stylish bar at Cashel Palace, reserved for hotel residents. Overlooking the Garden Terrace and mature mulberry trees, it is a refined place for a pre-dinner cocktail, glass of champagne, Irish whiskey or a quiet nightcap.

Guests can order a classic cocktail, enjoy a signature drink or speak with the bar team about a bespoke serve. With fine wines, exclusive whiskeys and an elegant residents-only atmosphere, the Residents’ Cocktail Bar is especially suited to relaxed evenings before or after dinner at The Bishop’s Buttery.

Best For: Pre-dinner cocktails, champagne, fine wines, Irish whiskey and nightcaps.

Access: Open to hotel residents only.

Donoghue’s Irish Pub

Donoghue’s Irish Pub brings a relaxed traditional pub atmosphere to Cashel Palace. With classic dark wood, warm snug sections and a lively sense of welcome, it is a convivial place for a pint of Guinness, Irish whiskey or an easy evening with friends.

On selected evenings, guests can enjoy live entertainment at Donoghue’s, with local musicians and performers bringing energy, character and a sense of place to the room. It offers a more informal drinks setting within Cashel Palace, while carrying the same warmth and attention to detail found throughout the hotel.

Best For: Guinness, Irish whiskey, relaxed evenings, meeting the locals, live music and traditional Irish pub atmosphere.

Entertainment: Live Traditional Irish Music on Monday nights from 8pm. Otherwise open on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays when not exclusively used for private events.
