 Morning – The Historic Harbour Town of Cobh

Your journey begins with a scenic drive south through the gentle landscapes of Munster to the picturesque harbour town of Cobh, one of the most historic ports in Ireland. Overlooking one of the largest natural harbors in the world. Cobh is known for its colourful waterfront, maritime heritage, and deep connection to Irish emigration.

A highlight of the visit is the immersive experience at the Titanic Experience Cobh, located in the original White Star Line ticket office. From this very building, the final passengers boarded the tenders that carried them to the RMS Titanic on her fateful maiden voyage in April 1912.

During the interactive tour you receive the boarding card of a real passenger and follow their story as the dramatic events of the Titanic unfold. Through personal accounts, audio-visual displays, and historical interpretation, the human stories behind the famous tragedy come vividly to life.

Afterwards there is time to stroll along Cobh’s harbour promenade, admire the magnificent St. Colman's Cathedral, and enjoy sweeping views across Cork Harbour.

Afternoon – Discovering Cork City

The journey then continues to Cork, Ireland’s lively southern capital and a city famous for its independent spirit, rich history, and vibrant food culture.

A guided tour of Cork city centre introduces you to its historic streets, elegant Georgian architecture, and lively river quays along the River Lee.

One of the highlights is a visit to the celebrated English Market, one of Europe’s oldest covered food markets, first opened in 1788. The market is a feast for the senses, filled with colourful stalls offering fresh fish, artisan cheeses, local meats, handmade breads, and traditional Cork specialties.

There will be time to wander through the market, enjoy a coffee, or pick up some delicious treats before departing the city.

Return to Cashel

In the late afternoon, relax on the return journey through the beautiful countryside of Munster back to Cashel Palace Hotel, bringing a memorable day of history, culture, and culinary discovery to a close.
