The Cashel Pottery Day
The Cashel Pottery Day – Craft, Creativity & Irish Hospitality
Your experience begins at Rossa Pottery, one of Cashel’s most beloved craft studios. Here you will meet the artisan behind the wheel and enjoy a fascinating live pottery demonstration.
Watch as simple clay is transformed into elegant bowls, mugs, and decorative pieces using traditional throwing techniques that have remained largely unchanged for centuries.
During this intimate presentation, you will learn about the materials, tools, and creative process that bring each unique piece to life. Guests will have the opportunity to ask questions and gain a deeper appreciation for the skill, patience, and artistry behind handmade pottery.

Following the demonstration, the experience continues at The Lodge Pottery Painting, where it is your turn to become the artist.
In a welcoming and relaxed studio setting, guests take part in a pottery painting workshop, choosing from a selection of ceramic pieces to decorate and personalise. Whether you prefer delicate patterns, bold colours, or simple designs, the workshop encourages creativity at every level — no previous experience required.
While you paint, enjoy a traditional Irish refreshment break featuring:
· Freshly brewed Irish tea and coffee
· Homemade scones served with butter and preserves
· A selection of light snacks
The atmosphere is calm, social, and inspiring — the perfect moment to slow down, connect with fellow guests, and enjoy the simple pleasure of making something with your own hands.
At the end of the session, your finished piece becomes a personal souvenir of Cashel, a handcrafted reminder of a creative day spent discovering local craft and tradition.
